Imigongo & Agaseke: Traditional Arts of Rwanda

This short film tells the story of Marie Solange, a master artisan dedicated to preserving two of Rwanda’s most cherished traditional arts—Imigongo and Abaseke. Imigongo, with its bold geometric patterns crafted from natural materials, is a centuries-old art form rooted in creativity and resilience. Abaseke, the beautifully woven baskets, carry deep cultural significance as symbols of unity and heritage. Through her hands, these traditions come to life, connecting the past to the present and ensuring their survival for future generations.
